Process for Referral

Please read the guidance for thresholds and support guidance for completing a referral.

If the criteria is met and you believe the school has explored and tried what is recommended, complete a referral form, ensuring you have Headteacher approval for doing so.

Referrals will be looked at by the Panel on the date specified.

Schools will be notified of the outcome of the referral after the Panel Meeting. Allowing for the administration of this, the intent will be that this is done within one week.

If the child is successful, then a therapist will be allocated and asked to contact the school to make the necessary arrangements before the agreed start date for the forthcoming sessions.

For the Spring Term 2025 the dates are as follows:

Friday 16th January 2026 - Closing date for Referrals. The Form will be circulated before we break up for Christmas.

Wednesday 28th January 2026 - First Panel Meeting to review referrals

Following this Panel meeting, schools will be advised accordingly of the outcome of their referral and children will be assigned to therapists.

Week beginning 23rd February 2026 - 15 week sessions start

Week of 22nd June 2026 - last week for sessions. Cases close.
